Homemade Hobby CNC Router

Building your own Homemade CNC Router or Lathe is a perfect project for any hobby enthusiast. The Hobby CNC Machine is made mostly of PVC and MDF and other hardware that can be bought over the counter at a hardware store. Three dual shaft NEMA 23 stepper motors and a FET –3 controller power the Mill. I added on three P3 CPU heat sinks and fans to the stepper motors to keep them a little cooler. The electronics are run off a computer power supply. For software I’m using Mach 3 from Artsoft the program is very easy to learn and the site offers excellent tutorials. The whole machine start to finish took about 3 months to complete and cost about $500 including the plans that I bought online. My next project for the Homemade CNC Router is to add a 4th axis to it. The machine is perfect for Hobbies like model airplanes or engraving wood or plastic. To anybody planning on building good luck and if you have any questions feel free to drop me a email.
